About Roy

Roy Capellaro began his journey at age 9 when he sought out an understanding of eternity. Thus began a lifelong study of another way of being and understanding. Roy first contemplated the priesthood but the call of the ocean and its waves beckoned and surfing entered the picture. Water, waves/structure and energy have been ongoing themes in Roy's life. The feeling of being propelled by a creation of wind on water was indelible. This fascination with water and motion gave him deep experiences of the beauty and potency of nature within and without. In 1969, he was introduced to a program called The Christian Encounter Movement (teens encountering Christ), which was a transformative force of the power of Spirit and humans in unity. In 1971, Roy attended Rowan College with a passion for classes that included art, music, the expansion of consciousness, and the enrichment of the human experience.  This led to a desire to be a facilitator for others to reach their potential in mind, body and spirit.

1973 was another transformative year for Roy when he began studying with the Arica Institute (www.arica.org). It is there that he deepened his experience and understanding of what he had felt at an early age. The Arica Institute is based on Oscar Ichazo's Arica Integral Philosophy™, a modern school of scientific mysticism. He became a teacher of the methodologies for a number of years.

In 1975, he returned to Rowan College to study classical guitar, followed by pre-med.  He then went on to graduate from the University of and Maryland in 1978 with a B.S. in Physical Therapy. He began working as a Physical Therapist utilizing the whole of his education and experiences, which created his unique and expansive approach for healing.

A chance encounter with Fritz Smith, M.D. in 1981, lead Roy to study Zero Balancing, which was a watershed moment propelling him deeper into the subtleties of energy and structure in the healing arts. "Zero Balancing is the use of finger pressure and gentle traction on areas of tension in the bones, joints and soft tissue to create fulcrums, or points of balance, around which the body can relax and reorganize. By addressing the deepest and densest tissues of the body along with soft tissue and energy fields, Zero Balancing helps to clear chronic tension and blocks in the body’s energy flow."

Roy is a vanguard of his profession specializing in manual wholistic treatments where energetic forces are balanced within body structure. He is a practitioner and teacher of Zero Balancing, a long time practitioner of healing systems including Cranial Fluid Dynamics, CranioSacral Therapy, and osteopathic based treatments. He has developed a signature cranial approach to newborns called The Listening Field. Additionally, he has integrated his years of training and experience in different modalities to create Osteo-Energetics.

Roy loves Tai Chi, surfing, snowboarding, bicycling, hiking and continues to play music.
